This adventure takes you along the iconic Loch Ness and Eilean Donan Castle passing the start of the true highland mountains. Crossing over the sea to Skye we travel through the dramatic Cuillin Mountains, we enjoy rivers, waterfalls, unique geological formations and more, in land fabled for its giants and fairies!

Itinerary

Departing the City of Inverness this adventure will take you on a journey along the Great Glen, encompassing Loch Ness, mountains and spectacular scenery before crossing the sea to Skye.

Passing Urquhart Castle where you can view this once impressive structure that guarded the Great Glen.

As we approach Kintail we will see the majestic mountains that form the 5 Sisters of Kintail. You may also see feral goats roaming the road in this area.

We will arrive at Eilean Donan which is a small tidal island where three sea lochs meet, Loch Duich, Loch Long and Loch Alsh. The picturesque Eilean Donan Castle frequently appears in photographs, film and television dominates the island. Since the castle’s restoration in the early 20th century, a footbridge has connected the island to the mainland. We will stop nearby for a photo opportunity.

Continuing onto Portree, traversing the Cullin mountain range, we will stop for a short time to enjoy the capital of Skye. This will allow a lunch opportunity or retail therapy time.
Thereafter we follow the east coastal route visiting the stunning locations of the Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock, and view the Quiraing.

Returning to Inverness we l make our way along Loch Carron and Achnasheen, travelling through some wild and rugged countryside.
