Leaving Inverness, we will cross over the Kessock Bridge, which opened in 1982, replacing the vehicular ferry that ran between South Kessock in Inverness and North Kessock in the Black Isle. Despite its name it is not an island, but a peninsula bordered by the Moray, Cromarty & Beauly Firths.
We will pass through the villages of Garve and Achnasheen (where we will stop briefly). Continuing our journey will arrive at the Glen Docherty stopping at the viewpoint with breath taking views over Loch Maree and the village of Kinlochewe. Thereafter we will continue driving alongside Loch Maree, under the gaze of the Munro mountain Slioch, until we reach the impressive Victoria Falls, unsurprisingly named after Queen Victoria who visited there in 1877.
Continuing our tour, we will make our way along the winding single track road to the seaside village of Gairloch and thereafter onto Poolewe. Here there will be an option to visit the Inverewe Gardens a lush, tropical oasis perched on a peninsula at the edge of Loch Ewe amid the rugged landscape of Wester Ross.
As continue our tour we will follow the coastline until we reach Gruinard Bay offering another stunning viewpoint.
We will then travel along the coast by Little Loch Broom adjacent to the Dundonell mountain range enjoying the rugged mountain views until we reach another viewpoint at the Corrieshalloch Gorge some 1.5 kilometres long and 60 metres deep.
On passing the village of Garve we will stop at the Rogie Falls Rogie Falls, Contin, where you can walk over a footbridge viewing water cascading over the rocks as you admire the stunning location and its tranquillity.
The tour will then start to make its way back towards Inverness where we complete our day.
