Departing the City of Inverness at a specified time and location this tour will take you on a journey around the Great Loch Ness, measuring 22.5 miles in length. We cannot guarantee seeing the famous Loch Ness Monster, but we will guarantee you seeing some amazing sights.
Travelling along the banks of Loch Ness we will firstly come to the village of Drumnadrochit where there will be an opportunity to visit the Loch Ness Centre and Exhibition. Thereafter we will make our way to the famous Urquhart Castle where you explore this once impressive structure that guarded the Great Glen.
We will then continue our journey to the little village of Invermoriston where you can view the Old Bridge, Invermoriston Falls and Summer House.
Thereafter we will once again follow the shores of the Loch, which will be within touching distance, and arrive at the popular village of Fort Augustus. You will have an opportunity to explore the village and see an impressive working set of Locks on the Caledonian Canal, which was designed by the famous Scottish Engineer Thomas Telford. If you are fortunate you may see vessels going through the locks.
The tour will then start to make its way back towards Inverness travelling the opposite side of the Loch where you will experience a vastly different terrain and single-track roads. We will arrive at Foyers where you will have the opportunity to visit the famous Falls of Foyers. We will then travel to Dores where you will be able to look down the Great Glen and take in a breath-taking view of the scale of Loch Ness before returning to Inverness where we complete our day.
