Departing the City of Inverness at a specified time and location this tour will take you on a journey along the Great Loch Ness and Glen Affric, a National Nature Reserve often claimed to be the most beautiful of all the Scottish glens. An area of breath taking beauty that provide access to some of the wilder and more remote areas of Scotland and the remains of part of the great Caledonian Forest.
Travelling along the banks of Loch Ness we will firstly come to the village of Drumnadrochit where there will be an opportunity to visit the Loch Ness Centre and Exhibition. Thereafter we will make our way to the famous Urquhart Castle where you explore this once impressive structure that guarded the Great Glen.
We will then continue our journey to the Corrimony where we will pay a visit to the Chambered Cairn which is over 4000 years old.
Thereafter we will travel along the narrow and winding road that takes us along Glen Affric and the stunning Loch Beinn a’ Mheadhoin. We will stop when we can to absorb these amazing views.
From Glen Affric we will take a short trip along a forestry road to see the stunning Plodda Falls. Truly an unforgettable sight.
We will the travel along the River Glass until it joins the River Beauly until we reach the lovely village of Beauly. Here you will get an opportunity to visit some of the traditional village shops and the remains of the Beauly Priory founded in Scotland about 1230 for monks of the Valliscaulian order.
We will then travel adjacent to the Beauly Firth returning to Inverness where we complete our day.
